Spring Awakening

Here in central Maryland, it seems we barely had winter this year. My poor snow shovel stayed under the deck all season without a single use. The extremely mild winter means trees are already in bloom and daffodils have been in bloom for almost three weeks. The tulip bulbs I planted in November are already sending up their shoots. Now that we’re heading into the later part of March, I am super stoked to get my gardens going. My family lives in a townhouse, so our home garden is comprised of three small raised beds, ten large pots for tomato plants, a few garden sacks here and there, and a bed just for herbs.
